For starters, I’d like to share the vision & purpose behind the newsletter and what we’re building towards.
Houston Spotlight began as a simple passion project—a way to find the many events happening in the city from Eventbrite, Instagram, Facebook, and Meetup.
As we started going to more pop-up markets and local events, we realized how vast and vibrant our community truly is—from small business owners, pop-up vendors, event organizers, local entrepreneurs, artists, creatives, musicians, and so much more.
We’re committed to being more than just a guide to explore upcoming events & foodie deals, but also a community that serves to uplift and support local businesses and creatives in Houston!

Hi everyone, my name is Luan! I started this initiative to give back to the city by sourcing all the cool events & foodie deals happening in the city.
Fun fact: I enjoy taking pictures & creating videos in my free time!
Asad Ali
Hi everyone, I’m Asad! I’m all about bringing you the hottest events and hidden gems around the city, one spotlight at a time.
Fun fact: I’m a huge motorcycle enthusiast—when I’m not curating events, you’ll probably catch me on the track. Fastest I’ve gone? 190 mph. 😎
