Which Local Hotspot Is About to Blow Up? - August 25th - 28th

Your local picks for Mon-Thurs events & things to do — plus two local spotlights ✨

Your week in Houston starts here 🎉

From weekday hangouts to weekend plans, we’ve got you covered twice a week. Mondays bring you the best events from Mon–Thurs, while Fridays are all about your weekend lineup Fri–Sun.

On top of that, we’ll be spotlighting foodie deals, hidden gems, and local favorites that make Houston the city we love. No gatekeeping — just good vibes, great eats, and the best things to do.

Without further ado, let’s get into it with our first business spotlight!

610 Record Manufacturing

Houston’s Vinyl Vibe 🎶

Imagine walking into a space where music is more than sound—it’s pressed into something you can hold. That’s 610 Record Manufacturing, Houston’s only vinyl pressing plant, tucked inside the East End Maker Hub. It’s not a record store, but a full-on factory where local artists can turn their music into custom vinyl, starting with just 100 copies.

The place buzzes with creativity—pressing machines, packaging bays, and even a listening room where the final product gets its first spin. It’s less about browsing shelves and more about building Houston’s music culture from the ground up. For musicians, it’s a dream come true; for the rest of us, it’s proof Houston is still spinning something special.

Shining the spotlight on…

Black Hole Coffee House ☕

Mocha Decaf to DIE FOR!

Looking for a spot that feels equal parts neighborhood hangout and creative haven? Black Hole Coffee House has you covered. Tucked away on Graustark Street, it’s got warm lighting, comfy seating, free Wi-Fi, and the kind of welcoming vibe that makes you want to stay awhile.

The drinks are on point (pro tip: try the iced latte with cardamom syrup 👌), and the food menu goes way beyond “coffee shop snacks.” Think crispy chicken tacos, Buffalo Ranch chicken sandwiches, and vegan breakfast burritos that actually slap. And yes, pairing their mocha decaf with a buttery gluten-free cookie is dangerously addictive.

Whether you’re there to study, catch up with a friend, or just chill, Black Hole delivers both the fuel and the feels.

That’s all folks, thanks for reading!
